The External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, is "personally monitoring'' the situation in the case of the Bengaluru-based IT consultant who was stabbed to death in Sydney on Saturday night, a spokesman of the Ministry announced on Monday.
Briefing newspersons, the spokesman said that the deceased husband and the Indian Consul General in Sydney went to the police earlier today and were informed that special groups of detectives were being put into place for the case.
Terming it as a "sad event'', the spokesman felt that at this stage it will be wrong to impose any motives to the attack.
Prabha Arun Kumar, who worked with MindTree, was stabbed to death late on Saturday as she was just 300 meters from her house.
