Mr Syed Safawi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Viom Networks Ltd. He has taken charge from July 2.
Viom Networks, a joint venture between Tata Teleservices and Quippo, a Srei group enterprise, is the country’s second largest mobile tower firm after Indus Tower. It has over 41,000 towers and a tenancy ratio of 2.5.
Mr Safawi was previously the President and CEO of the wireless business of Reliance Communications Ltd. He was also the Chairman of Reliance Management Board. He also served as Executive Director for East and West India for Bharti Airtel.
“It is a pleasure to lead Viom in these challenging yet, very exciting times. I look forward to taking the company to another level in becoming a global leader in the infrastructure space,” he said according to a release issued by the company.
The release further added that Mr Safawi will also work closely with the Chairman and Managing Director in exploring international business opportunities and allied areas of business including partnering alternate energy solutions.
