TalentSprint, a skill development solutions company, has set up SmartCampus at Gachibowli in Hyderabad, with a capacity of 500 seats. “We can teach 1,000 students in a day in two shifts and 4,000 students in a year,” Santanu Paul, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of TalentSprint, has said.
The 30,000 sq ft campus, set up at a cost of ₹5 crore, also has a cloud-based platform to remotely offer skill courses to students from other cities.
“They can pursue the courses online. We can reach out to more people using this platform. The country produces over 10 million graduates every year with a good number of requiring skills to get employment,” he said.
“We are targeting to touch 1 million students in the next five years. Of this, about 5 per cent will be through direct channels of training, with the remaining through the online platforms,” he said.
The firm, which has raised ₹37 crore so far, said it would not require any funds in the next two years.
Intuitive skills hitESL Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, who formally inaugurated the facility, lamented that the kids were depended on gadgets even to do small maths problems.
“Are we producing brain dead? Natural skills of memory and intuition are being impacted. The country passed on Vedas and Upanishads through the word of mouth. We need to focus on memory,” he said.
