US Consulate General Chennai will hold talk on ‘Reimagining and Transforming Cities, Governments, and Lives with the Internet of Things’ on March 19 at Bengaluru.
US’ cyber security professional David F Heyman, who has over two decades of experience as a government and private leader in spurring innovation, risk management, and strategy development in the public and private sector, will address cyber security professionals at Hotel Atria at 10 am.
Within 40 years, 75 per cent of the world’s population will live in cities, concentrating global challenges of infrastructure, economic growth, crime, and disease into degrading urban areas.
Governments already face increasing demands to provide better, faster, and cheaper services with fewer resources.
David Heyman is expected to discuss the potential of the ‘Internet of Things’ to transform cities by connecting infrastructures, business assets, and other urban elements – to, in effect, reimagine what a city is and how it works.
