After its successful roll-out in Surat, Vodafone India on Thursday announced launching of 4G services in other cities in Gujarat including two of the major telecom markets Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

The launch of 4G services in Ahmedaabad and Vadodara follows the launch in other cities such as Gandhidham, Bhuj, Rajkot, Morbi, Gandhinagar, Diu, Vapi & Daman.

"Vodafone has strong presence with 19.5 million customers across the state. After this, we will be expanding Vodafone SuperNet 4G services across the entire circle in a phased manner," said Jayesh Gadia, Business head- Gujarat.

"4G has the potential to revolutionise the mobile experience through powerful innovation that impacts how we work and live. After overwhelming response received in Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal, Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Haryana, UP East and select cities in Gujarat, our customer will now enjoy 4G network experience in Ahmedabad and Vadodara," said Naveen Chopra, COO, Vodafone India after the launch.

Gujarat ranks top when it comes to mobile data consumption in India. Hence, telecom players are increasing their focus on the State. Vodafone India has invested Rs 541 crore during fiscal 2016 to expand, modernize and build up technology and energy efficient network

The company has 50 per cent of its nearly 2 crore customers in rural areas and has highest retail presence with 383 stores. As on June 2016, company's Average Revenues per User in post-paid users is Rs 532 and Rs 143 for pre-paid users. The company has 8,595 2G cell sites and 6,290 3G cell sites across the State.
