With the Google I/O conference just around the corner, the tech industry pundit  and geeks are looking forward to what the big ‘Alphabet’ of Silicon Valley has to offer to the community worldwide. The event will kick start on Tuesday, May 7 from 10 AM Pacific time (10:30 pm IST), in Mountain View, California.

Here is what can be expected from the conference:

1.Pixel 3a and 3a XL  

Most smartphone enthusiasts are looking forward to the 'Google Pixel 3a' and its XL version as this is touted to be a budget offering to the Google pixel line of phones.    

Rumors surrounding the device is that since the phone might be based on the mid-range Snapdragon 660/670 chipset and feature the same software and hardware camera prowess of the pixel line-up. Also, may be priced around $399 for its 5.5-inch version and $479 for the possible 6-inch XL version.   

2. Android Q   

People are looking forward to the first consumer beta for the next version of Android –Android Q, which is likely to get a new sweet name.   

Google had launched two developer beta previews earlier this year and now there are three to four more beta versions left before the final release. Android Q is likely to bring support for foldable devices, ‘bubbles’ like Facebook messenger for multi-tasking, system-wide dark mode and improved privacy and device security features.   

3.Google Assistant    

Google Assistant is likely to see some updates in with more abilities and capabilities being added to the smart assistant for Android devices, Google home products, and more. Also, it is expected to launch the nest hub max – a 10-inch screen version of Google home hub with stereo speakers and a nest camera.   

4.Google Stadia   

Google Stadia is Alphabet/ Google’s venture into the potent cloud gaming market which will allow 4K gaming on any internet-connected device, eliminating the need for gaming consoles. This was unveiled at the game developers conference in March this year. More announcements are expected at this event.  

5. Android TV   

There are expected updates for Android TV platform with more supported apps for the platform and more inter-connectivity with Google Assistant.   

Wear OS for smart-watches got recent updates which allowed the use of tiles as swipeable widget watch faces containing important info in a glance.
