Reliance Capital Trustee Company Ltd acquired an additional 0.73 per cent stake in SpiceJet for Rs 14 crore through open market purchases. The company's stake after the fresh acquisition of shares stands at around 5.19 per cent, according to a notice sent to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Reliance Capital acquired 29.84 lakh shares on February 7 at Rs 46.91 per share and now holds 2.1 crore shares of the New Delhi-based low-fare carrier. Before the acquisition, Reliance Capital held 4.4 per cent stake in SpiceJet (1.8 crore shares).
On Thursday, SpiceJet's shares closed up 1.83 per cent at Rs 44.45 on BSE.
