About 83 per cent of the 9.22 lakh kg offered for Sale No: 11 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association (CTTA) auctions absorbed with average price falling to ₹108.91 a kg from previous week’s ₹110.04.
Darmona Tea Industry’s Broken Orange Pekoe grade, auctioned by J Thomas and Co., topped the leaf auctions and the entire CTC market when Shyam Vittal and Company bought it for ₹226 .
In the CTC Dust auction, Homedale Estate’s Super Red Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹211 . In the orthodox market, Chamraj topped at ₹240 followed by Kodanad at ₹233.
