Prices of aromatic and non-basmati rice ruled flat amidst restricted activity in the market on Wednesday.

Pusa-1121 (steam) was quoted at Rs 4,950 a quintal, Pusa-1121(sela) ruled around Rs 3,970, while Pusa-1121(raw) was trading between Rs 4,550-4,570 a quintal. Duplicate basmati quoted at Rs 3,500-3,550 a quintal. Pure Basmati (raw) was at Rs 6,400-6,500 a quintal.

Prices for the brokens of Pusa 1121, Tibar was quoted at Rs 3,100-3,300, Dubar quoted at Rs 2,500-2,600 and Mongra was at Rs 1,900-2,120.

After witnessing a decline at the beginning of this week, market managed to maintain their previous quoted levels amid sluggish demand, said Mr Praveen Kumar, a rice miller. Due to fall in domestic demand prices are getting soften continuously and if the situation remains the same, rice prices could witness another downtrend, he added.

Sharbati (steam) quoted at Rs 3,000-3,030, while the Sharbati (sela) was ruling between Rs 2,800-2,850 a quintal. PR-11 (sela) ruled at Rs 2,000-2,185, while PR-11(raw) quoted at Rs 1,950-2,130 a quintal.

Permal varieties continued to rule flat, Permal (sela) was ruling between Rs 1,700-1,940 a quintal while Permal (Raw) traded at Rs 1,900-2,090 a quintal.

Brokens of the Sharbati variety, Tibar was quoted at Rs 2,350-2,500, Dubar was at Rs2,100-2,200 and Mongra ruled around Rs 1,700-1,750 a quintal.
