Crude oil futures fell 0.52 per cent to Rs 6,084 per barrel today as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend in Asian trade following a mixed US supply report and easing concerns over tensions in West Asia.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in July shed Rs 32 or 0.52 per cent to Rs 6,084 per barrel in 345 lots.
In a likewise manner, the oil for August delivery moved down by Rs 26 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 6,088 per barrel in 23 lots.
Trading sentiment eased at the futures trade after crude oil prices fell in Asian trade following a mixed US supply report and easing concerns over tensions in West Asia, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for August delivery declined 31 cents to $101.98, while Brent crude dipped 11 cents to $108.17 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in late-morning trade today.
