Palmolein and crude palm oil prices rose Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today, largely on a firming global trend.

Other edible as well as non-edible oils, however, continued to be traded at the previous levels.

Market analysts said recovery in palm oil in the global markets after recent declines, influenced the trading sentiment. Besides, scattered buying by vanaspati mills also supported the rise in select edible oil prices, they said.

Meanwhile, palm oil futures for delivery in June gained 1.8 per cent to $1,111 a tonne in Kuala Lumpur.

In the national capital, palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (kandla) gained Rs 10 each to Rs 5,790 and Rs 5,490, while crude palm oil (ex-kandla) traded higher by the same margin to Rs Rs 5,210 per quintal, respectively.
