Zinc prices rose 0.58 per cent to Rs 103.75 per kg at the futures trade today, taking positive cues from the London Metal Exchange (LME).

In addition, pick-up in demand at the domestic spot market also influenced the futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in March traded higher by 60 paise or 0.58 per cent to Rs 103.50 per kg with a business turnover of 11 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in April inched up by 40 paise or 0.38 per cent to Rs 104.75 per kg with a business volume of 10 lots.

At the LME, zinc rose 1.1 per cent to $2,306 a tonne.

Market analysts said besides pick-up in demand at the spot market, gains at the LME supported the recovery in futures prices.
