Nearly 93 per cent of 10.80 lakh kg offered in Sale No: 24 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction was sold with average prices falling by a tad to ₹99.18 a kg from last week’s ₹99.44. The Pekoe Dust of Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the Dust auction as also the entire CTC market when Vardhaman Traders bought it for ₹202 a kg. Homedale Estate’s Red Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, came next at ₹195. In the Leaf Tea auction, Darmona Estate topped at ₹187/kg. In the orthodox market, Kodanad topped at ₹263 followed by Karibetta ₹243, Havukal ₹241 and Chamraj ₹225.
