Crude oil rose Rs 48 to Rs 3,358 per barrel at the futures market today as speculators indulged in creating speculative positions, taking positive cues from Asian markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October was trading higher by Rs 48 or 1.45 per cent at Rs 3,358 per barrel in a business turnover of 6,293 lots. Likewise, the oil for delivery in November gained Rs 48 or 1.44 per cent to Rs 3,386 per barrel in 809 lots.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate gained 0.80 per cent to $51.86, while global benchmark Brent was up 1.07 per cent at $57.78 a barrel.
