Arrivals of jasmine flower to Satyamangalam market posted an increase on Monday.

F In the past one month, the market saw inflows of 4-5 tonnes of jasmine and one tonne of Arabian jasmine ( mullai ) every day.

Muthuswamy, President, Sathyamangalam Flower Growers Association, said, “On Monday, seven tonnes of jasmine arrived for sale. In the morning between 7 and 9 a.m. it was sold at ₹210 a kg , but after 9 a.m. it was sold at ₹200. Only flower traders from Erode and parts of Coimbatore and Tirupur districts purchased the flower. Further, a perfume company also purchased the flower at ₹80/kg”.

Muthuswamy said for another two months no marriage function would be conducted and there is no major festival. So the demand will go down.
