Sugar prices at upper level ruled firm but remained steady at Vashi on Monday on routine demand amid ample supply. At the Vashi market, prices were mixed with littler volatility. Naka rates went up by ₹30 a quintal as Maharashtra’s mills were not keen to sell at lower rates. With enough inventories, stockists are easily fulfilling their orders.
Arrivals were steady at 59-60 truck loads and local dispatches too were at the same level. Freight rates were steady. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,210-3,310 (3,190-3,320) and M-grade ₹3,290-3,562 (3,290-3,562). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,230-3,370 (3,200-3,340) and M-grade ₹3,270-3,460 (3,240-3,430).
