Sugar prices on the Vashi wholesale market increased by ₹20 for S-grade and declined by ₹12 for M-grade. Naka prices lost ₹20-30 a quintal on increased reselling pressure for old stocks amid need-based local demand. Mill tender rates were down by ₹10. Freight rates were steady.
Arrivals were at 62-63 truckloads and local dispatches were 60-61 loads. On Saturday evening, 18-20 mills offered tenders and sold 64,000-65,000 bags at ₹2,800-2,900 (₹2,800-2,910) for S-grade and ₹2,900-3,000 (₹2,920-3,020) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,970-3,042 (₹2,950-3,042) and M-grade ₹3,080-3,226 (₹3,092-3,226). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,910-2,970 (₹2,900-3,020) and M-grade ₹3,020-3,100 (₹3,040-3,100).
