Spot pepper prices on Friday moved up on strong demand amid supply squeeze, while the futures contracts showed a mixed trend. On the terminal market, 21 tonnes were traded at ₹655-675 a kg.
Spot prices moved up by ₹100 a quintal to ₹66,000 (ungarbled) and ₹69,000 (garbled). January contract on the IPSTA remained unchanged at ₹70,000, while February lost ₹1,000 to ₹66,000. Export prices were at $10,400 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,650 for the US.
