Pepper prices moved up by Rs 33 to Rs 26,150 per quintal at the futures trade today on rising demand in the spot market against tight supply.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in May gained Rs 33 or 0.13 per cent to Rs 26,150 per quintal with an open interest of 5,978 lots.
Similarly, April contract traded marginally higher by Rs 15 or 0.06 per cent to Rs 25,745 per quintal with an open interest of 6,721 lots.
Analysts said a firming trend in the spot markets on good demand amid tight arrivals, mainly pushed up pepper futures prices.
