Pepper prices stayed steady on limited activities. Upcountry buyers stayed away from the market hoping the prices would fall following the heavy influx of Sri Lankan pepper into the domestic market, market sources told Business Line . Meanwhile, there were no arrivals from the High Ranges. Growers there were asking ₹735/kg of ungarbled pepper. On the spot, nine tonnes of pepper were traded at ₹725, 730 and 735 a kg. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹71,500 for ungarbled and ₹74,500 for garbled a quintal. Export price was at $12,850 (c&f) for Europe and $13,100 a tonne (c&f) for the US.
