Spot pepper ruled steady on Tuesday . On the terminal market, 40 tonnes were traded. But, some of the buyers were looking for cheaper materials, trade sources told BusinessLine .They said Pulpally and Bathery (Wayanad) sellers were quoting ₹640 a kg while the buyers were at ₹635. Sellers of Rajkumari (Idukki) pepper were quoting ₹650 a kg. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹ 62,600 (ungarbled) and ₹65,600 (garbled) a quintal. IPSTA contracts for July, August and September also stayed steady. Export prices were at $10,675 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,925 for the US.
