Physical rubber prices ruled steady on Saturday. The weekend session was comparatively inactive though domestic futures finished in green on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE). Sheet rubber finished unchanged at Rs 240 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi, according to traders. The transactions were low. The market is expected to firm up further once the international markets resume trading after the weekend holidays.
In futures, the March series improved to Rs 244.89 (244.35), April to Rs 255 (254.41), May to Rs 260.80 (260.33), June to Rs 264.51 (263.93) while and July to Rs 265.11 (265) a kg for RSS 4 on the NMCE.
Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 240 (240); RSS-5: 231 (231); ungraded: 228 (228); ISNR 20: 239 (239) and latex 60 per cent: 149 (149).
