Active participation has lifted prices of almost all varieties of tea at Kochi auctions. However, the auctions witnessed low arrivals, with CTC in dust category at 8,49,500 kg in sale no 45. The export demand was subdued even though there was a fair demand from upcountry buyers and loose tea traders. The orthodox market was also steady to firm at 14,000 kg on offer, while exporters continued to be the main stay for the dust mark, auctioneers Forbes, Ewart & Figgis said.
