Turmeric prices rose by Rs 238 to Rs 10,450 a quintal in futures trade today due to lower arrivals against increased demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), prices for delivery in May rose by Rs 238 or 2.33 per cent to Rs 10,450 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,165 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in April moved up by Rs 176 or 1.64 per cent to Rs 10,896 a quintal in 6,800 lots.
Traders attributed the rise in prices to low arrivals amid increased demand at the spot market.
