Unichem Laboratories has recalled 96,876 bottles of bisoprolol fumarate tablets in the US following a failed impurity test, according to information on the US Food and Drug Administration website. “(The tablets were) out of specification for an unknown impurity was observed during the 18 month stability testing,” the regulator said. The company initiated the class II recall earlier this month, the regulator said. A company initiates a class II recall if use of a product may lead to temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. The recalled anti-hypertension tablets were manufactured at the company’s Goa facility, as per information on the regulator’s web site. Shares of Unichem Lab were flat at ₹260.40 on the BSE.

Jain Irrigation on Wednesday informed the exchanges that its Mexican subsidiary NaanDaan Jain has bagged two orders worth $23.77 million from the agriculture ministry of Honduras. The projects envisage piped conveyance of irrigation water to the fields of farmers in the command areas of two reservoirs. The company will design, supply, install and commission the networks during the next 30 months. The stock of Jain Irrigation closed 0.16 per cent higher at ₹95.55 on the BSE.

Manappuram Finance , a gold loan NBFC, on Wednesday said its board will meet on October 30 to consider raising ₹200 crore through allotment of non-convertible debentures on a private placement basis. The stock of the company tumbled 3.5 per cent to ₹97.50 on the BSE.
