Gold prices edged higher by 0.15 per cent to ₹30,399 per 10 grams in futures trade today as speculators raised bets, tracking a firm trend overseas. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in April edged up by ₹47, or 0.15 per cent, to ₹30,399 per 10 grams in business turnover of 194 lots.
On similar lines, the yellow metal for delivery in June contracts was trading higher by ₹43, or 0.14 per cent, to ₹30,509 per 10 grams in 6 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants in tandem with a firming trend in the global markets on a softer dollar, amid worries about a global trade war even as US President Donald Trump faced pressure from political and trade allies over his plan for steel and aluminum tariffs, influenced gold prices at futures trade.
Globally, gold rose 0.19 per cent to USD 1,322.30 an ounce in Singapore today.
