Asian shares were trading in a mixed pattern on Tuesday as concerns over Egyptian crisis offset the overnight gains in Wall Street, which closed firm on hopes of a steady economic recovery.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 43.81 points or 0.41 per cent to 10,635.85. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 4.92 points or 0.02 per cent at 23,548.67. Singapore’s Straits Times fell 5.38 points or 0.17 per cent to 3,186.80.
South Korea’s Kospi was down 2.07 points or 0.1 per cent at 2,079.67. Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 rose 18.5 points or 0.38 per cent to 4,887.00. Taiwan’s Taiex was down 2.77 points or 0.03 per cent at 9,142.58.
Today, China’s stock market is closed on account of Chinese New Year holiday.
