Shares of Hathway Cable & Datacom will remain in focus, as the company board is meeting on Thursday to consider sub-division of face value of equity shares. Besides stock-split, the company will also announce results for the September quarter. The market will be keen on the stock split ratio, as the face value of Hathway Cables is ₹10. The company has reported a loss of ₹93 lakh for the previous quarter ended June and ₹125.25 crore for the fiscal ended March.
DLF, Hindalco, Cipla results today
Thursday will see Cipla, DLF, Hindalco, Hindustan Copper, HPCL, Alstom T&D, Bajaj Electricals, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Voltas, Shipping Corporation of India, United Spirits, IVRCL and Tata Power declaring thier financial performance for the quarter ended September 30. These stocks are widely tracked by market participants. Expectations are especially high on Hindalco after Tata Steel reported strong numbers on Wednesday.
Capital goods could see buying interest
Thanks to a strong show by the capital goods sector, the Index of Industrial Production for September came in surprisingly higher at 2.5 per cent, more than what most analysts had expected. Capital goods growth was reported at 11.6 per cent against negative 11.3 per cent the sector had clocked in August. Shares of capital goods companies such as BHEL, Siemens, Crompton Greaves, SKF India and Havells India could see some buying interest on Thursday.
