As the first set of advance tax numbers for HDFC and YES Bank indicate a sharp rise, analysts will see whether the pattern holds for banks, particulalry PSUs, and other corporate houses. Following strong IIP data, advance tax figures of capital goods firms, such as L&T, BHEL, ABB, Alstom, Alstom T&D India and Siemens will also attract focus. Every fiscal, firms have to pay at least 15 per cent of their tax liability on or before June 15 as advance tax.
