The Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) lost ground on selling pressure during the week and finished lower by 171.02 points.
The CSE-40 index opened at 7,629 and after touching an intra-week high of 7,683.42, it declined to finish at 7,457.98.
BHEL finished the week lower at Rs 1,997 compared to the previous close of Rs 2,060.05. Blueprint Securities remained steady at Rs 307, while Infosys Technologies finished the week at Rs 2,904.40.
ONGC gained ground and closed at Rs 314.45, SBI at Rs 2,798.50 and Tata Steel slipped to Rs 613.95. Tata Motors ended at Rs 1,221 and Vindus Holdings at Rs 304.10.
