BHEL was the top gainer on the BSE on Tuesday morning. At 10.45 am it held gains of 1.44 per cent to trade at Rs 261.50 as against Rs 257.80 at close yesterday.
Axis Bank traded up 1.29 per cent at Rs 508. The share had ended the overnight session at Rs 501.55.
The market held steady in the Tuesday morning session on firm Asian cues. While the BSE Sensex was within striking distance of the 27,600-mark, the Nifty was comfortably above the 8,300-level.
Cipla perked up 1.27 per cent to trade at Rs 639 as against Rs 631 at close yesterday.
Maruti Suzuki also drove up 0.93 per cent to trade at Rs 3,496 as against Rs 3,463.75 at close yesterday.
Hindalco Industries spiked up 0.89 per cent to quote at Rs 152.40. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 151.05.
