A joint venture between Alstom India and Alstom Transport SA has won a ₹1,497-crore order for the Bhaupur-Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Alstom will design, construct, supply, test and commission double-track railway lines on the stretch. It will also carry out electrification, signalling and telecommunication work associated with the freight corridor. A special purpose vehicle will be set up to execute the project.
