The United Forum of Bank Unions has rejected the Indian Banks' Association's increased offer of 6 per cent hike in wage bill.
Though the offer was upped from 2 per cent to 6 per cent, the unions said it was not acceptable to them as it is was not satisfactory. They emphasised that it has to be improved further through discussions.
"We also wanted resolution of issues like wage revision for all officers up to Scale VII, finalising the index point for merger of dearness allowance to work out new pay scales, medical insurance scheme, weekly holiday on all Saturdays and Sundays (5-day banking), etc," CH Venkatachalam, General Secretary, All India Bank Employees' Association said.
