Private sector lender Development Credit Bank (DCB) today posted a net profit of Rs 11.43 crore during the fourth quarter ended March 2011 compared with a loss of Rs 8.1 crore during the same quarter in the previous fiscal.

The total income of the bank increased by 28 per cent to Rs 177.4 crore from Rs 138.9 crore in the year-ago period, DCB informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

For the entire fiscal ended March 2011, the net profit rose to Rs 21.4 crore from Rs 78.4 crore in the previous fiscal. Total income during 2010-11 fiscal rose 10.5 per cent to Rs 648.3 crore from Rs 586.4 crore.

The gross non-performing assets of the bank declined from 8.69 per cent during the previous fiscal to 5.58 per cent at the end of March 2011 fiscal. At the same time, the net non-performing assets of the bank stood at 0.97 per cent.
