Allianz Partners, the B2B2C arm of Allianz, is in talks with banks and digital payment service providers in India to offer insurance solutions, as well as bank and credit card-bundled assistance services to digital consumers, said a top visiting official.

The global specialist in assistance and insurance for the travel, automotive and international healthcare sectors, now wants to leverage technology to expand its service offerings in India, which it sees as a big growth market.

Allianz Partners is now open to “white label” (provided under the brand of its business partners), its latest technology-focussed service offerings in both the financial and health sectors of the Indian market, Sylvie Ouziel, member of the board, who also oversees the Asia-Pacific region, told BusinessLine . Allianz Partners is also looking to partner with health insurance companies in India to offer assisted services (such as doctor on call, ambulance services, nurses) in the healthcare sector, she said.

Ouziel is also the Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Allianz Assistance, which is one of the four commercial brands of Allianz Partners. The other three commercial brands are Allianz Travel, Allianz Automotive and Allianz Care.

Globally, Allianz Partners serves four ecosystems – motor and mobility, travel and tourism, international health, and home and connected individuals.

Under the Allianz Assistance brand, assistance and insurance solutions are provided to large corporates and their customers, including roadside assistance; appliance protection; mobile devices, and digital risk protection; and bank and credit card-bundled assistance services.

“India has been a fast adopter of digital payments, and we see immense growth opportunities for us in this market,” she added.

The increased adoption of digital payments has posed a new set of risks, and Allianz Partners is ready with products and solutions to protect the digital life of insured persons, Ouziel added.

New service areas

Ouziel said that technology is opening up a new field of insurance and services to Allianz Partners. The insurance world is deeply challenged and transformed by technology.

“Our value proposition is to provide protection and care, assistance and peace of mind, on the road, at home, and when travelling,” she said.

Protecting the digital footprint of the insured person is as important as the mobile device, and is emerging as a new field of service.

In the current scenario, protecting the mobile phone and providing fast solutions in the case of broken or stolen phones is key, but not enough. Equally important is to protect and restore data on the phone, according to Ouziel.
