Karur Vysya Bank’s net profit at the end of the third quarter of the current fiscal nosedived 70.3 per cent to ₹21.20 crore compared to ₹71.49 crore a year ago. While the total income of ₹1,702.65 crore during the December 2018 quarter (₹1,647.17 crore) has been commensurate with the total expenditure of ₹1,277.64 crore (₹1,225.98 crore), the bottomline seems to have been impacted due to higher provisioning of ₹400.40 crore (₹324.70 crore). .Net NPA rose to 4.99 per cent (3.88 per cent), and return on assets slipped to 0.12 per cent from 0.43 per cent.
