Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), South Central Zone had crossed Rs 2,000 crore mark in new business premium income on October 25, 2016 for the current financial year.
The zone, comprising, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, has mobilised 12.35 lakh policies.
"The total new business premium procured is Rs 2,035 crore. The zone had achieved 47.42 per cent of the annual premium target and registered a growth of 67.33 per cent in new business premium income,’’ LIC said in a release issued here on Thursday.
With regard to total premium income, the South Central Zone now occupies third position in LIC which has eight zones in the national market.
Guaranteed return immediate pension plan, Jeevan Akshay VI, had contributed Rs 720 crore out of the total premium procured, the release added.
