The Chairman & Managing Director of UCO Bank, Mr Arun Kaul, today launched the ICT-based financial inclusion drive at Barapind village of Ropar district in Punjab, according to release issued by the bank.
Mr S.C. Kaushik, Chief General Manager of Nabard, Mr R.K.Murgai, General Manager of UCO Bank, and other dignitaries were present. The bank is using the ICT based financial inclusion model to cover 30 villages in Punjab and 21 in Haryana.
Tata Consultancy Services is the service provider for UCO and simple account opening forms will be used for opening of accounts of the villagers through UCO Saathis (Business Correspondents).
