An awareness session on Food Safety and Standards Act and a licensing mela will be conducted at the Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce and Industry building here on Monday.
The Chamber will host the event in partnership with the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Assocham) and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), a spokesman said.
The session will give an overview of the food safety and regulations under the Act. It will also facilitate on-spot registration food business operators. Biju Prabhakaran, commissioner of food safety, Kerala, will inaugurate the event.
Uma Maheshwari R, Inspector, FSSAI, Chennai, will make a presentation. This will be followed by an interactive session.
