The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have signed a memorandum of understanding under which airmen will be provided training and helped in placements. Under the MoU, both IAF and CII will set up a vocational training centre (VTC), named “Happy Landings”. CII will train airmen due for retirement in the near future on skills and capabilities required by industry.
“To begin with, three focus sectors have been identified -- aviation, telecom & information technology and defence production,” a CII statement said.
In addition to training, the industry body would also facilitate placements for the personnel. “The project is one of the many human resource initiatives undertaken by the IAF to ensure the well being of air warriors and address their professional and personal aspirations,’ a CII statement said.
