All Head Post Offices in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will accept packages containing relief material such as clothes, blankets, woollens, medicines, tarpaulin, plastic sheets, torch and packaged food with long shelf life without postage charges.
A release from the Postmaster General, Chennai City Region, says the securely packed parcels should be addressed to: Senior Postmaster, Dehradun GPO, Pin – 248001.
The sender’s address, along with indication on top ‘Relief Material for Uttarakhand,’ should be given. Bookings will be accepted till July 20, 2013, and senders will be given a receipt.
