The Central Bureau of Investigation has withdrawn its submission before the trial court in the alleged ₹64-crore Bofors payout scam and sought more time to investigate the case.
“In view of certain revelations made by one Michael Hershman, CBI sought the permission of the Trial Court to conduct further investigation in the Bofors case,” a CBI statement said. The CBI had moved the trial court seeking permission for further probe into the case while referring to fresh material and evidence.
