If being recognised for the President Delight Award for best dealership is anything special, it seems more so for CAI and Rajshree Ford at this juncture.

CAI (Coimbatore Auto Industries), authorised dealers for Mahindra tractors, personal and commercial vehicles has bagged the 2015-16 President’s Delight Award for best dealership in India.

Anvar Jay Varadaraj, Director, CAI told Business Line that the Group has been in the dealership business for more than half-a-century, starting with Tata Tractors before moving on to Mahindra Tractors, including their (Mahindra) construction and farm equipment dealership.

The group took up Ford dealership as well, when Mahindra and Mahindra collaborated with Ford Motor Company to manufacture vehicles in India. Incidentally, 2015-16 proved to be a landmark year for the group as Rajshree Automotive Pvt Ltd (dealers of Ford vehicles) was also recognised for President’s Delight Award.

And for young Varadaraj, the recognition seemed special as he assumed charge as Director of the Group just about a year ago. Attributing the recognition to the team he said “we still have no General Manager; the key to our success is our people.”

CAI has taken up Mahindra dealership across 5 locations – Coimbatore, Erode, Pollachi, Tirupur and Ooty, and Ford Dealership across four of the towns (mentioned above) excepting Pollachi. “We have a well-established sales and service network across all these locations” he added.

On performance, he said “while Mahindra brand grew 9 per cent in 2015-16, we grew 30 per cent year-to-date. And in the last three months, revenue from Ford dealership has peaked.”
