Canada has offered its wood-based high density house construction technology to help the Government meet its ‘Housing for All by 2022’ target, a statement for the Ministry of Urban Development said.
Canadian Minister of International Trade Ed Fast met Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu here on Wednesday.
At the meeting, Fast said the technology enables multi-storey construction that India can consider to meet its housing targets, adding that the life span of such houses is about 60 years and is amenable for renewal.
Canada is also keen to partner India in an appropriate manner in building smart cities, the statement added.
