Our Bureau The Congress has accepted the request of the TDP to support the non-confidence motion it plans to move against the Narendra Modi government during the upcoming Monsoon Session.

In response to TDP leader CM Ramesh’s statement that his party will reach out to all opposition parties on the no-confidence motion, the Congress said it has been raising the problems of Andhra Pradesh in and outside Parliament.

“The Congress has been raising its voice consistently and steadfastly. We believe any individual or party, irrespective of political differences, who wants to join hands with the Congress in championing this voice, is welcome to come and stand in consolidation with us and the people of Andhra Pradesh. We will welcome it,” Congress’s media in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said.

He added that the no-confidence motion will be deliberated upon by the Congress Parliamentary Party before a decision is taken.

AICC secretary and senior leader JD Seelam said the Congress had decided to support the no-confidence motions moved by the YSRCP and the TDP during the Budget Session. “There is no change in that decision as of now,” he said.

Both the YSRCP and the TDP had approached all opposition parties in the Lok Sabha on the no confidence motions.

The Left parties and the UPA constituents had all expressed support, but it was never taken up for discussion in the Budget Session.
