The West Bengal State government may consider exempting goods entering the State for repairs from paying entry tax.
The West Bengal Tax on Entry of Goods into local Areas Act, 2012 is not clear if goods entering the State for repairing works should be taxed.
“There are some flaws in the Rule 7 (2) of the Act. We will have to rectify them,” Mr Khalid Anwar, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, West Bengal, said.
