Bicycle patrol on Manipal University campus

To tighten security measures on campus, Manipal University has launched an inner campus bicycle patrol.

Quoting Prem Kumar Shetty, chief security officer of Manipal University, a press release said here that it is part of the university’s green initiative to patrol the campus on bicycles to strengthen the existing security system. These bicycles will be patrolling in pairs on the inner campus areas for a quick, efficient and effective security cover, he said.

The bicycles are specially modified and equipped with a first-aid kit, searchlight, fire extinguisher, night stick and walkie-talkie sets.
