Anil Swarup, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, MHRD on Monday said the Class X and XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), will be ‘totally different’ starting next year. The examinations will be based on a ‘new system’ relying heavily on ‘technology’, in a bid to make it foolproof and secure.
Following news of the leak of the Class X mathematics and Class XII economics papers, the HRD Ministry had set up a high-powered committee led by V.S. Oberoi, Secretary, Higher Education, to examine the process by which CBSE conducts examinations.
“The committee should submit its report by today or tomorrow. From next year onwards, the CBSE examinations will be totally different from what we have. We will take the technological path to ensure that it (such instances of leak) is not repeated,” Swarup told newspersons on the sidelines of an interactive session organised by the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today.
