Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a three-nation tour to Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa to strengthen strategic and economic ties. The PM will be accompanied by an official delegation and a large Indian business delegation is also expected to be part of the visit.

The Election Commission will hear the final arguments in the AAP office-of-profit case. The Election Commission had earlier declared the Aam Aadmi Party lawmakers did hold office of profit in their capacity as parliamentary secretaries and thus were liable to be disqualified. The AAP legislators approached the High Court that asked the EC in March to hear the arguments of the respondents.

Hearing on a batch of petitions against the disqualification of 18 AIADMK MLAs on the charge of defection on September 18, 2017 will begin today.  Justice M. Sathyanarayanan of the Madras High Court, the Supreme Court appointed third judge, is expected to resolve the stalemate created due to a split verdict rendered by Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M. Sundar. He will hear the case at a stretch for five days.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate a three-day National Traders Conclave in Delhi. Trade leaders will discuss wide-ranging issues, including implications of the Walmart-Flipkart deal on the country's retail trade at the conclave. As many as 1,500 traders are expected to participate in the summit.

The board of Punjab National Bank is set to meet today to decide on the course of action against its executive directors chargesheeted in the Rs 14,000 crore Nirav Modi fraud case. Soon after the CBI filed charge sheet in May pointed involvement of top officials of banks, PNB’s board decided to divest two executive directors of all powers.
