The Madras High Court will hear today from the Tamil Nadu government about the coordination in respect of relief measures in flood-affected areas and the course of action to be followed. The government was asked by the court to list the steps taken to rehabilitate the affected people.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai will meet President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, on his first trip to India after taking over as CEO of the IT giant. Google will also host a special event with the media where they will put out the vision for 2016.

Uber will roll out its car-pooling service in Delhi on Wednesday as one of the solutions to deal with the Delhi government’s odd-even car number formula. Uber’s low-cost hatchback service UberGo is morphing into a car-pooling product in Delhi in an attempt to battle congestion and pollution that have risen to alarming levels in the city.

India will launch six Singaporean satellites weighing a total of around 625 kg this evening through its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle rocket under the TeLEOS-1 mission. This is the 32nd flight of the space vehicle.

The Federal Reserve is expected to almost certainly raise interest rates today. This would be the first Fed rate hike in over nine years. The Fed’s benchmark interest rate has been pegged at 0-0.25 per cent since December 2008. The last time the Fed actually raised rates was June 2006.
